Who I Am…
In order to look like Christ, I must know Him entirely. To become His image and reflection, I must be around Him so much that I become like Him. Who I hang around with, I will be like… Who I worship, I will be like.
I Corinthians 15:49 tells us: And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man. (New International Version, Biblegateway.com)
Imagine this:
-After a conversation with someone, they feel closer, not only to you but to God
-Facing a tense or tiring situation and acting with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, meekness and self-control
-Taking the mundane tasks of life in stride, without complaint
-Serving others without thinking about it
As we are with God in prayer, we spiritually appear to be more and more like Christ. I think the above goals are reachable here on earth if we seek time in prayer, Scripture, worship, and devotions.
Someday, we’ll have a resurrected body, and boy, will that be heavenly. But we don’t have to wait until then to have a Christlike-ness about us. He can give us creative ways to be with Him. Why not ask Him?
