Meditating on God’s Majesty

Jude 24-25

24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

I have been meditating on these verses for a month. Meditating on Scripture is different from other kinds of meditation out there in the world. Bible meditation means to mull the verse over and over- kind of mentally chewing on it.

Here are some results of my meditation:

1) I am so thankful there is a God who can keep me from falling. The verse doesn’t say that He’ll never let me fall if I choose to be rebellious- but if I stay close to Him, He is there to guide and protect.

2) I look forward to standing before Him some day. Can you imagine His glory?

3) Verse 25 used to puzzle me, why would I, a goof-ball human be blessing God Himself with glory, majesty, dominion, power? I think it is because He gave us those things to steward, we are to humbly develop them for His kingdom and then bring them back to Him when we stand before His throne. (Kind of like the story of the talents…)

So now, I am praying that God, through His Holy Spirit, show me how to recognize and be available to those things. It is stretching me pretty far.

How about you? Have you seen where God has place on you any glory, majesty, dominion, or power?
