Quote-type stuff
If you read history, you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this. – C.S. Lewis

The simplest prayer is simply a name.
Let me explain-
There can be a lot of communication that happens when you say someone’s name. Think about when you walk into a newly-tidied room and the kids have totally trashed it- all you have to do is say a couple of names and those kids know they are in trouble.
Or how about when your little one draws a scribble just for you, you just say that child’s name and she knows how much you love her.
Or when young teens walk into a room. They greet each other with “Dude!” and much more than “Dude!” is being said in just that one word.
Back to the simplest prayer:
It is “Jesus”. Just that one word, “Jesus”.
(It is after all, the name above all names.)
Try this experiment, if you will:
As often as you think of it during the day, take a deep breath and intentionally think or say, “Jesus”.
There will begin a communication with him that, over time, becomes more than you can ask or think.
